The Protection Measures on Human Rights Defender against the Corporate and State’s Strategic Threats

Abstract

This Article aim to reflect the problems and prospects to promote the activity of “Human Rights Defender” who is the front-line protector of the Social Justice Movement for Vulnerable Groups. The Qualitative Methodology is the style of this research article which gain information from literature reviewing and case studies published in media. The article uses International Human Rights Instruments as the standard to analyze the actions of Human Rights Defender from many case studies. The research result shows problems, from the tactics Corporate and State played in different case studies, when Human Rights Defenders represent the marginal groups by employing legal measure or administrative process to solve the course of conflict. Moreover, the article elucidates the guideline for the social movement group to enlarge the network and increase alliances to support human rights defender. Ultimately, the article gives recommendations to relevant governmental units and civil society organizations for promoting the action of human rights defender to meet the international standard. Accordingly, these research results and suggestions may diminish the inequality of the vulnerable group and encourage them to access to judicial remedy.
