A Study of Guidelines for Students on Nature Conservation and the Environment in School under Vocational Education Commission in the North of Thailand

Abstract

The purposes of this research were to study guidelines for students on nature conservation and the environment in school under Vocational Education Commission in the north of Thailand. Data providers are 9 qualified people from educational administration, educational management, educational and administrative activities of students. Data were collected by using structured interview and content analysis.

The results showed that: A student activity on nature conservation and the environment, there are 4 steps: 1) Schools must provide opportunities for external parties involved in thinking, planning policy, conference feedback and publicity and allow students to participate in the thinking and  planning on establishing conservation and environmental clubs at schools. 2) Schools need to divide division of responsibilities by allowing all personnel to coordinate with local authorities; provide stage for students to show their potentials and present their performance empirically. Furthermore, financial support of various materials should be provided for students to organize the activity on the nature conservation and the environment. 3) The educational institutes should organize activities inculcating natural conservation and the environment with support for various resources, both personal, material management budget to help fix the problems in the process of conservation activities, nature and the environment effectively. 4) Schools need to engage all parties to take part in planning on devising evaluation criteria for nature conservation and environmental education in the institutes by allowing student representative, student organization for future professions authority of Thailand to take part in every step.
