A Study of Teaching Assistant System Management in General Education Program, Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University

Abstract

          The objective of this research was to study the management of teaching assistant systems of general education courses, Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University. The study was a survey research. Data were collected via interviewing personnel in the Office of General Education. Then, the results from the interview were analyzed and created as a questionnaire by applying to the population and sample groups of 104 people. A sample was selected by using simple random sampling method. Data were analyzed by using descriptive statistics analysis, and table assembly.

          The results of this study were  teaching assistants are responsible for facilitating the main instructors including taking care of advising students during class activities and other as assigned, responsible for courses that meet the aptitudes or abilities of at least one individual. Teaching assistants should be selected from those who can work well with others and has leadership. After the job entry, they must receive training experiences in various fields to develop their abilities. The institute should focus on the welfare of personnel to create work stability and building good relationships between personnel and the institute. In addition, in order to make the most useful research results, writing the workload of the teaching assistant should be detailed and clear in order to be able to understand the operation process more easily. In the training that has been measured and evaluated, the results may be used to evaluate the capabilities of the teaching assistants or used to divide teaching assistants appropriately according to the courses that are responsible and meet the capabilities of the teaching assistants themselves. Finally, the institute may have to study how to help the teaching assistants, principal instructor and students can communicate well, understanding and having a good relationship with each other.
