Socio-economic impacts and Adaptation of People in the Situation of Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) Pandemic: A Case Study of Bann Phon Community in Phon Sub-district, Kham Muang District, Kalasin Province

Abstract

The purposes of this study were 1) to survey a level of the socio-economic impacts of Covid-19 from the Situation of Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) Pandemic of people in Bann Phon community, 2) to study the state of adaptation to living in new normal lifestyles of peoples in Bann Phon community, and 3) to suggest on reduction of Socio-economic impacts and Adaptation of People in the Situation of Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) Pandemic of people in Bann Phon community. The study was a mixed research method. Quantitative research was used for exploring people in Bann Phon Community in Phon sub-district, Kham Muang District, Kalasin Province amount 3,845 people, and a sample size was 387 samples by gathering data from a questionnaire. The statistics used for data analysis were the percentage, mean, and standard deviation. Qualitative research used for in-depth-interviewing two key informant groups: 1) a community leader had amount 5 people and 2) a family representation in the community had amount 10 people who were selected by purposive sampling. Data analysis was content analysis and result reporting by description. The result showed that an overview of the socio-economic impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic were at a high level, an average of 4.05. The level of economic impact was at a high level, an average of 3.94. The level of social impact was the highest level, an average of 4.15. An overview of the adaptation level for living in new normal lifestyles of people in Bann Phon community was at a high level, an average of 3.80. by changing these lifestyle modification behaviors, understanding the situation of the Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) Pandemic and following suggestions to make. The government should control information to the public and provide disease prevention.
