[Retracted Article] Decentralization and Enhancing the Strength of People Politics: A Case Study of Sub District Municipality in Chaiyaphum Province

Abstract

This research aimed 1) to study and assess the role and status of decentralization to local government organizations in promoting the participation of the public sector. That led to the strengthening of the people's politics at the local level, 2) to study the nature, patterns, processes, including guidelines for the paradigm shift of decentralization of local government. That led to the strengthening of the people's politics at the local level. A quality research by documentary research, participatory rural appraisal and in-depth interview were 50 cases. A quantitative research with the sample were 400 cases such as, subdistrict municipality executive, member of subdistrict municipality and people in this area, determined by the Krejcie and Morgan table and stratified random sampling. Instruments used were questionnaire and semi-structured interview. Statistics used for research processing were Percentage, Mean and Standard Deviation. A qualitative data analyzing with inductive analysis. The research finding found that decentralization to local government organizations with the strengthening of people politics in Subdistrict Municipality resulted in people more understanding about people politics. However, an overview of the operations of the municipality in the area did not lead to strengthening of people politics, including 1) promoting governance, control national and local politicians, Subdistrict Municipality must adjust the paradigm to create sustainable participation of local people. 2) Encourages the enthusiasm to participate in community public activities. 3) Providing information to the community thoroughly, where the Subdistrict municipality must improve its role by developing a process of people participation clearly.
