Evolution of the use of space for political rallies in Bangkok

Abstract

The objective of this article is to analyze the evolution of the use of public space for political rallies and to explore the physical characteristics that are important to the selection of public spaces for political gatherings. Through this research, the researcher chooses a public space for political gatherings from public areas that had political usage in the past to the present, and a new political public area, consisting of Sanam Luang, Ratchadamnoen Road, Ratchaprasong Intersection. Pathumwan Intersection and Lad Phrao Five Intersection The data collection consists of a literature review. Study of forms of political assembly Public space feature survey The data obtained from the survey were adapted to the interviews from two sample groups: public officials at the time of political demonstrations and organizers of political rallies. To be analyzed summary of study results The results of the study showed that The use of public space for political gatherings in the past was greater and there was less restriction on the use of public space for political gatherings than today. The physical attribute that is important to the selection of a space is its symbolism. location Accessibility, security, size, shape and facilities
