The Operation of Khaoroopchang Municipality, Muang District, Songkhla Province to Prepare for The Aging Society

Abstract

This research article studied to the operation in preparation for the aging society of KHAOROOPCHANG municipality, MUANG district, SONGKHLA province. A semi-structured interview was used to collect data from purposive informants include the directors and related officials involved in the management guidance and operation to the elderly of the municipality, the whole 6 people, and the results were analyzed for the content. The research results were found that the operation in preparation for the aging society of municipality, there must be a guideline for the preparation of 4 areas, consisting of physical, there was a plan to improve the quality of life of the elderly in terms of physical health by bringing the wisdom of alternative medicine to integrate into activities for the elderly. Mental health, the municipality had organized religious activities with both Buddhism and Islam or other religions that people respect. Economic, the municipality supported the group of people who were entering to the elderly to get involved in more activities and local products were used to create more value-added products. Social, there had grouped together to do activities to reduce dependence on children. There was an innovation to help the elderly who are bedridden, and there was a physical therapy center.
