Abstract
This research on the development of natural fiber woven fabrics was a research and development which aimed at natural materials to reduce waste and to create a unique Tai Lue woven fabric in order to create a new unique product to be universal at Ban Hat Bai, Chiang Khong District, Chiang Rai. The population and sample group in this research were sixteen Tai Lue weavers and five leaders of Ban Hat Bai community. Semi-structured interview was utilized to analyze qualitative data. It was found that the important things for developing natural fiber woven fabric products were as follows. 1) The development of weaving processes from banana fibers and cotton fibers increased the properties of flexibility, strength, durability, shiny, beautiful, breathable and soft. The dyeing was made from coffee grounds, which was a waste raw material from nature. 2) The designs of woven fabric products were developed by creating contemporary styles and designing beautiful and unique patterns of clothes. 3) Knowledge was transferred to contribute the creation community identity by conducting meeting and training Tai Lue weavers at Ban Hat Bai in order to create thinking processes and increase opportunities of entrepreneurs in expanding international markets in ASEAN countries. In this regard, in developing products to create a new identity towards internationalization, entrepreneurs should work to connect both domestic and international markets by supporting local development, building strong communities in order to create jobs and income by using natural resources and local wisdom to develop quality products and services.
