Abstract
This research aims: 1) to study the demographic characteristics of German tourists; 2) to study the expectations and satisfaction levels of German, UK, and Indian tourists regarding the situation in Thailand to determine trends of GEI tourists visiting Thailand over the next 2 years; and 3) to study the differences between gender, age and income as they relate to German tourists’ satisfaction during their visit in Thailand. The population in this study consisted of German, UK and Indian (GEI) tourists. The sample size was calculated using Taro Yamane formula with 95% confidence level at 5% error. The sample consisted of 400 people separated into 2 groups and tested using Independent-sample t-test. The results showed that: 1) Most of the studied tourists were between 21- 40 years of age. The majority of German tourists (52%) and UK tourists (54%) were married, while most Indian tourists were single (59.5%). Over 70% of German and UK tourists held a bachelor’s or higher degrees 2) Indian tourists expected to visit Thailand in the next 2 years, during the new normal era, and 3) 49% of German tourists, 48.5% of UK tourists, 89% of Indian tourists perceived that Thailand’s tourist attractions were different and better than other countries in Asia, which are important factors to encourage them to visit Thailand again. This uniqueness affects Thai tourism, and tends to create a sustainable tourist industry in Thailand.
