A Study of Matthayomsuksa 2 Students’ Learning Achievement by Using Inquiry Method with Creative Problems Solving

Abstract

Learning achievement of Matthayomsuksa 2 by using inquiry method with creative problems solving was studied. The samples were 30 Matthayomsuksa 2 students from Sansailuang School, Chiang Mai, who those study in the second semester of 2021. The samples were selected by Cluster random sampling method. The research instruments were 1) four lesson plans using inquiry method with creative problems solving and 2) learning achievement test of science subjects on soil and water 30 questions with four multiple choices. The data were collected by one group pretest-posttest design. The data were analyzed using mean, standard deviation, t-test dependent, and one-sample t-test.


The findings of the study were as follows:


1) Matthayomsuksa 2 students who being taught through inquiry method with creative problems solving, the achievement before learning average score equal to 12.75, standard deviation equal to 3.02 and the average score after learning equal to 23.33, standard deviation equal to 2.16. The students had learning achievement after learning higher than before learning with statistically significant at the .01 level.


2). Matthayomsuksa 2 students who being taught through inquiry creative problems solving the achievement average score equal to 23.33, standard deviation equal to 2.16 which higher than the 70 percent criteria with statistically significant at the .01 level.
