Factors Affecting Public’s Participation Spectrum in Formulating Development Plan of Watthananakhon Municipality Watthananakhon District, Srakaew Province

Abstract

         This research aims to study 1) The level of people's participation in the planning of the Watthananakhon Srakaew Province and 2) Compare the people’s participation in the planning of the Watthananakhon municipality, Srakaew province classified by personal factors. By use Quantitative Research Methode. The sample of this study consisted of 375 personnel of communities in Watthananakhon municipality, Srakaew province. From the formula of Taro Yamane. The research instrument used for data collection was a questionnaire. The statistical procedures employed included frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test, and One-Way ANOVA.

        The research found that 1) The people’s participation spectrum in formulating development plan of Watthananakhon municipality, Srakaew province as a whole were at a high level. When considering each aspect, it was found that the participation of beneficiaries at the highest level. The participation in operation, decision-making and monitoring and evaluation were at a high level. 2) The personal factors affected people’s participation in the planning of the Watthananakhon municipality, Srakaew Province was difference in gender (monitoring and evaluation), age (decision making), education (decision making), occupation (monitoring and evaluation) and income (monitoring and evaluation).
