Causal Factors of the Building Construction Project Control Affecting Design Quality for Building, and Construction Success

Abstract

The objectives of this paper were: 1) to study the causal factors affecting the building construction project control, design quality for building, and construction success; 2) to study the influence of the causal factors of building construction project control affecting design quality for building and construction success, and 3) to construct a model of the causal factors of building construction project control affecting design quality for building and construction success. This research was qualitative and quantitative. The tools used for data collection were interview forms and online questionnaires. The statistics used in the data analysis were descriptive statistics and structural equation modeling statistics. The results showed that resource planning affects building construction project control, resource planning affects design quality for building through building construction project control, contractors’ competencies affect building construction project control, contractors’ competencies affect design quality for building through building construction project control, construction policies affect building construction project control, construction policies affect design quality for building through building construction project control, building construction project control affects design quality for building, and design quality for building affects construction success. Therefore, building contractors can apply the results from the research study to improve the design quality for building and construction success, to specify resource planning and the contractors’ competencies and construction policies. Where, the building construction business can ensure the design quality for buildings and the success of good construction.
