The Development of Political Equality for Women in Thai Society from 1967 to 2017

Abstract

          This article was qualitative research which had the research objectives were to study 1) the political role of women 2) the political participation of women 3) the political equality of women from 1967 to 2017 and 4) the recommendation and guidelines of the role development in women according to sustainable political equality. The researcher collected the data from documents and in-depth interviewing with politicians, leaders of groups making relevant demands, academic scholars and experts who involved with the equality and the political roles of women in Thai society. The findings found that the government sector should formulate the policies for promoting and allowing the women to play more their roles in local politics by setting the operational plans or the activities that contributed political operation of women or setting the specific procedure for increasing the women proportion in political participation, included monitored and evaluated the impacts of operations to contribute the sexual equality. Finally, the women should trust and basic self-value because the political duties were public problem solving with commitment, ability, morality, learning and self-improvement at all times that could be able to achieve the success in a sustainable political path.
