Model for the Development of the Life Quality of the Elderly Living in Bang Phut Subdistrict District Administrative Organization, Muang District, Pathum Thani Province

Abstract

          This research aimed to study the developing model in life quality of the elderly person who has lived in the areas under the jurisdiction of Bang Phut Sub-District Administrative Organization, Pathum Thani Province. This research was quantitative. The tool used questionnaire. Sample group to be the elderly people has lived in Bang Phut Sub-District Administrative Organization, Pathum Thani Province. The population was amount to 1,010 elderly person. To use formula of Taro Yamane to be the sample 287 elderly person The collected data were analyzed by means of descriptive statistics.

           The results of the research showed that the level of the basic need of the elderly was found to be at a medium level. Separately, the needs of the elderly in descending order of degree were as follows: They needed some people to take care of them when they got sick. They needed moral support; they needed someone to  listen their complaints and problems and finally, they needed acceptance and sympathy  from their family members and neighbors. With regard to the elderly persons’ opinions toward the development of the life quality of the elderly initiated by the Administrative Organization, it was found that they were satisfied with development to a moderate degree. Last but most important, the government should expedite allocating living allowances to all senior citizens who has lived in aged 60 and over comprised the sample of the study that according to the Government’s urgent and best policy to be the best.
