Abstract

This research’s objectives are 1) To study causal factors affect knowledge management and individual performance of the construction business in Thailand. 2) To study the influence of factors affect knowledge management and individual performance of the construction business in Thailand and 3) To create a model of causal factors affect knowledge management and individual performance in the construction business in Thailand. This research implemented Mixed Methods. The population included the construction business personnel in Thailand. Structural Equation Modeling was implemented to determine sample size from 20 times of the number of observed variables. The sample population consisted of 420 samples that were selected by multi-stage sampling and 5 samples were selected by purposive sampling from experts in the construction industry and proceeded to in-depth interview. The research instrument includes surveys and in-depth interviews. The statistics used in data analysis were descriptive statistics and structural equation modeling.

The research found that 1) The levels of transformational leadership, Achievement culture and Information technology are high. 2) The influence of Transformational leadership directly and positively influenced knowledge management and individual performance, Achievement culture directly and positively influenced knowledge management and individual performance, Information technology directly and positively influenced knowledge management and individual performance, Knowledge management directly and positively influenced the individual performance. 3) The causal factors model results concerning the factors affect knowledge management and individual performance in the construction business in Thailand are consistent with observational data.
