The Use of Task Based Language Learning to Enhance English Reading and Writing Skills of English Major Students, Chiang Mai Rajabhat University

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to compare English reading and writing skills of the students before and after performing task based language learning. The population consists of 30 third year English major students, enrolling English in mass media subject, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Chiang Mai Rajabhat University. The research instruments used were: 8 lesson plans using task based language learning activities, a reading ability test, and a writing ability test. The data obtained are analyzed by using mean, standard deviation and percentage. The results revealed that the students’ reading and writing abilities were increased after performing task based learning.
