Study of Delinquency Influence Factors and Behaviors at the Observation and Protection Center in Pattani Province

Abstract
This research examines the behavior of juvenile delinquent youths at the Juvenile Observation and Protection Center in Pattani province, Thailand. The target population for the research was 53 youths aged 13-18 years. The youths provided information by answering a questionnaire on juvenile delinquent behavior at the center. The data were statistically analyzed for percentage, mean, standard deviation, and the content analysis was also adopted. The research findings revealed that factors and behaviors influencing juvenile delinquency consisted of psychological state (moderate level with = 3.14), residence of origin (moderate level with = 3.08), motivation (moderate level with = 3.05), level of parenting (moderate level with = 3.04), and media influence (moderate level with = 2.71). Most of the juvenile delinquent youths were described as offended as being frustrated, upset, money demands. Therefore, families, society, and the government should be aware of these factors, instill in the youths a sense of being a good person with morality and ethics, and provide the youths with training for emotional control.
