The Current Images and Expected Images from People in Muang Chiang Mai District and Nearby Districts toward Ratchamangklaphisek National Library of Chiang Mai

Abstract

This research aimed to study about current images and expected images from people in Muang Chiang Mai District and Nearby Districts toward Ratchamangklaphisek National Library of Chiang Mai. People of this research was the people live in Muang Chiang Mai District and 4 Nearby Districts: Maerim District, Hangdong District, Sansai District and Saraphee District total 622,877 people. Determined sample size by formula proportion total 400 people. Sampling by Quota Sampling and Simple Random Sampling. The research instrument was questionnaire with multiple choice and 9 level rating scales. The research statistic were frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, and difference. This research found that: For the current images of Ratchamangklaphisek National Library of Chiang Mai, respondents gave the mean of current image in high level (= 5.83). Level of the current images from highest to lowest were staff’s images, building’s images, information resource’s images, service’s images, organization’s images, information technology’s images and public relation’s images respectively. For the expected images of Ratchamangklaphisek National Library of Chiang Mai, the most of respondents gave the mean of current image in highest level (= 7.68). Level of the expected images from highest to lowest are staff’s images, building’s images, information technology’s images, information resource’s images, public relation’s images, organization’s images, and service’s images respectively. Overall compared the gap between current images and expected images found that the gap from widest to narrowest were the public relation’s images, information technology’s images, building’s images, organization’s images, information resource’s images, service’s image, and staff’s images respectively.
