Factors that affect price of palm oil in Thailand 2017

Abstract

          This study had objectives to study the factors that affected the price of palm oil in Thailand 2017 and the palm oil quality and quantity control. The used data in the study were a monthly time series and a secondary data from January 2012 to December 2017 in the period of 60 months. The variables in the study were the price of palm oil and crude palm oil from domestic markets that included of Krabi, Chumphon, Surat Thani province, Bangkok and Malaysia market and the quantity of the palm oil.  Research findings found that if the 1 Baht increasing of price of 17% quality collapse of palm oil that affected to increase 0.55 Baht to the palm oil price in domestic markets and contributed 0.55 Baht increasing to the domestic price of pure palm oil. The 1 Baht increasing of crude palm oil price in domestic markets that affected to increase 0.85 Baht of the pure palm oil price in domestic markets. The 1 Baht increasing of pure palm wax/sedan price in domestic markets that affected to increase 2.78 Baht of oil palm price in domestic markets. The 1 Baht increasing of pure palm oil FOB Malaysia exports price that affected to increase 1.57 Baht of pure palm oil price in domestic markets and the pure palm oil stocks of government policy affected to the palm oil price in domestic markets in year 2017.
