The people’s Participation in Community-police Relations in Crime Prevention in Suan Yai Subdistrict, Mueang District, Nonthaburi Province

Abstract

The purposes of this study were: 1. to study the level of Participation of people in community-police Relations in Crime Prevention in Suan Yai Subdistrict, Mueang District, Nonthaburi Province.And 2. to compare personal factors influencing the people’s involvement in community-police relations in crime prevention in Suan Yai Subdistrict, Mueang District, Nonthaburi Province. This research was quantitative, and the sampling size was 400 people in Suan Yai Subdistrict, Muang District, Nonthaburi Province. Questionnaires use as tools for  field data collection. The data were analyzed using frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test, one-way ANOVA (F-test), and LSD.

The findings were as follows:

1. The people’s Participation in police-community relations in crime prevention in Suan Yai Subdistrict, Muang District, Nonthaburi Province was moderate. Therefore, they could rank in descending order of their means as follows: participation in decision and planning, and participation in activities and monitoring and evaluation.

2. The comparison of personal factors in terms of sex, age, education level, occupation, and length of stay in the community. It was found that only the unique aspects of the size of stay in different communities. We found it affects the public's Participation in police-community relations, which differed at a level of statistical significance of 0.05.
