Special Economic Zones Development Policy, Chiang Rai Province

Abstract

This research aimed to study Chiang Rai Economic Development Policy. It was a qualitative research aimed at studying the development policy of the special economic zone of Chiang Rai Province that will affect the quality of life of the people and to study the development of economic, trade and investment relations with neighboring countries. This will affect to the people of each country who have interests from the use of the development policy as a special economic zone in Chiang Rai Province, using an interview form as a research tool. This was an in-depth interview from 26 key informants who are experts and have experienced in the area which are the local leaders of Chiang Rai, and analyze the data using logical reasoning.

        The research results revealed that the development of economic zone development policy in Chiang Rai Province: 1) Investment, 2) Agriculture, 3) Environment, and 4) Tourism have evolved in a direction that is alert to accept all policies, causing changes to exchange knowledge for the development and adjustment of the people in business competition to create wealth in each country in the GMS. It directly improves people's quality of life, according to the Economic Development Plan of the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC), people of all countries respond to the evolving changes of every country.
