Development of preschool children’s social behavior through cooperative outdoor activities at Bannaipol School (Maensuwan Auppatham)

Abstract

The purposes of this research were to: 1) compare preschool children’s social behavior before and during the implementation of cooperative outdoor activities, and 2) study the changing trend of preschool children’s social behavior during the implementation of cooperative outdoor activities.  The population in this research were 60 preschool children, boys and girls, aged 4-5 years who studied in Kindergarten year 2 in the 1^st semester of the academic year 2021 at Bannaipol school (Maensuwan Auppatham) The researcher therefore selected a voluntary sample of 13 children. This research was an experimental research design with one-group time-series method. The experiment took 7 weeks.The research instruments were cooperative outdoor activities lesson plans with the IOC of 0.67-1 and preschool children’s social behaviour observation form with the reliability of 0.85. The statistics used to analyse the data were mean, standard deviation and one-way repeated-measures ANOVA.

         The research findings revealed that 1) the preschool children’s social behavior during the implementation of cooperative outdoor activities was higher than before the experiment at the statistical significance level of .05 and 2) the trend of the  preschool children’s social behavior during the implementation of cooperative outdoor activities was higher.
