Public participation in the local development plan of Ton Khram sub-district municipality, Bang Plama district, Suphanburi province

Abstract

       This study has the objectives: 1) To study the level of knowledge and understanding of people in Ton Khram sub-district municipality, Bang Plama district, Suphanburi province, about the preparation of the local development plan 2) To study the level of public participation in the formulation of the local development plan of Ton Khram sub-district municipality, Bang Plama district, Suphanburi province. 3) To compare the participation of the people in the development of local development plans of Ton Khram sub-district municipality, Bang Plama district, Suphanburi province, classified by personal factors, the study population is electoral people listed in Ton Khram sub-district municipality, Bang Plama district, Suphanburi province, total 4,583 people. The sample size was determined by using Taroyamane's formula for calculating a sample of 368 people. The tool used for collect the data in the study was a questionnaire, estimate scale model. The statistics used for data analysis were percentage, mean, Standard Deviation, t-test (independent samples) and F-test (One-way ANOVA)
       The results of the study found that:
       1. The people have knowledge and understanding about making a community, making a development plan of Ton Khram sub-district municipality, Bang Plama district, Suphanburi province and they have the average total knowledge and understanding about how to do the community, preparation of the current development plan with a score of 6.62% is the criteria, knowledge is moderate level.
       2. The people participate in the development plan of Ton Khram sub-district municipality, Bang Plama district, Suphanburi province, overall was at a moderate level. When considering each side, found that: The step of implementing the plan, overall was at a moderate level. The evaluation stage, overall was at a moderate level. The planning process, overall is at a small level.
       3. The results of the comparison of the people's participation in the development of local development plans of Ton Khram sub-district municipality, Bang Plama district, Suphanburi province had classified by personal factors, found that : The participation of the people in the preparation of the local development plan of Ton Khram sub-district municipality, Bang Plama district, Suphanburi province with different genders and educational levels, They have different participate in the local development plan of Ton Khram sub-district municipality, Bang Plama district, Suphanburi province. It was shown that personal factors, gender and education level of people affected the participation in local development plan of Ton Khram sub-district municipality, Bang Plama district, Suphanburi province as the statistical significance level of .05
