Influence of Perceived Organizational Justice and Job Characteristics on Employee Engagement of Generation Y Government Officers at the Department of Disease Control, Ministry of Public Health

Abstract
The objectives of this study were to study: 1) the level of perceived organizational justice, job characteristics, and employee engagement of generation y government officers at the Department of Disease Control, Ministry of Public Health 2) the influence of perceived organizational justice and job characteristics on employee engagement of generation y government officers at the Department of Disease Control, Ministry of Public Health. The sample in the study were consisted of 201 generation y government officers. Questionnaires were used to collect data. The statistics used for data analysis were percentage, mean, standard deviation, Pearson’s product moment correlation coefficient, Tolerance, VIF, and stepwise multiple regression analysis.
This study found that 1) Subjects showed their overall perceived organizational justice, job characteristics, and employee engagement were at a high level, considering aspects of perceived organizational justice; distributive justice, procedural justice, and interactional justice were at a high level. We found that skill variety and task significance were at a very high level. As for the job characteristics; task identity, autonomy, and feedback were at a high level; and 2) perceived organizational justice in part of interactional justice and job characteristics in part of task significance, feedback, and skill variety could jointly predict overall employee engagement of generation y government officers at the Department of Disease Control, Ministry of Public Health accounted 52% at .05 level of statistical significance.
