Participation in Development of Quality of Disabled People’s Life Being Suitable with the Community Context and Environment of The Area : A Case Study of Yodchat, Nakhon Phanom

Abstract

This research aimed 1) to study and analyze the context relating tothe disabled people in YodchatSub-district, 2) to build the participatory process of every sector on the development of disabled people’s quality of life, and 3) to find the developing Procedure of

disabled people’s quality of life being suitable with the context and the environment of YodchatSub-district.The interview forms used for data collection of the area context werefrom the 70 persons: members of Sub-district administrative organization, community leaders, disabled people and their families, representatives of Sub-district health promotion hospital, village health volunteers and community representatives, 125 disabled people, and the International Classification of Functioning Disability and Health Assessment form according to the types of disability.The statistics used for data analysis was percent; qualitative was analyzed the contents.  The research findings were revealed that 1) the context relevant to the disabled people at Yodchat Sub-district was caused by an illness situation, accidents mostly found in the ages from 61 to 70 which was the disability in form of not moving the bodies; 2) there were lots of organizations relating to making the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for helping development and driving to be set up as the Sub-district routinedevelopmentplan on quality of life at Yodchat Sub-district Administrative Organization, and 3) Yodchat

Sub-district Administrative Organization has the quality of life reinforcement plan for the disabled people in collaboration with organizations concerned, setting up the procedure of treatment and promotion the disabled people’ health through coordination with the village health volunteers in each village, and giving the help for the disabled people as oneself’s assistant potential.
